BEST CHANCE TOO continues it's winning streak, becoming the only team to receive a check in every tournament this year.  BEST CHANCE TOO won the top prize in the 2008 Pfc. Geoffrey Morris Memorial Governor's Cup in Waukegan, IL this past weekend.  Taking home the $15,000 first prize, Capt. Dave Engel said "We have been close in every tournament this season and we felt it was only a matter of time before things fell into place and we won one.  Thanks to all our sponsors for their fine products and help.  Winning is a team effort and we are proud to reach the top again in 2008."

BEST CHANCE TOO a strong 2nd in Ludington!
BEST CHANCE TOO took a strong 2nd place finish this weekend in the Gander Mountain Ludington Offshore Classic in a tough field of 51 Pro boats.  Showing amazing consistency, BEST CHANCE TOO had two boxes of fish that were only one-tenth of a pound apart for the Saturday/Sunday event.  Running north almost to Manistee to find their fish, BEST CHANCE TOO was 8th after Day One.  Day Two saw a number of teams fall when conditions changed and their fish moved, but BEST CHANCE TOO was able to repeat their Day One success and move up in the standings.

BEST CHANCE TOO takes 2nd in Holland!

BEST CHANCE TOO takes 2nd in the Huntington Big Red Classic tournament in Holland, MI and moves into 1st place in the GL2S Championship series, with one more tournament to go.  This 2nd place finish continues BEST CHANCE TOO's string of Top Ten finishes during 2008. 2008 Tournament Season off to a great start!

The 2008 tournament season is off to fine start for BEST CHANCE TOO with Top Ten finishes and one win in the first seven events.  They started the season in Michigan City, where they finished up in 3rd place in the Dreamweaver Hoosier Coho Club Classic.  Next came the St. Joseph Okuma SW Michigan Steelheaders Summer Celebration where BEST CHANCE TOO finished 6th and the South Haven Steelheaders Big Jon Pro/Am where BEST CHANCE TOO ended up in 2nd place.  BEST CHANCE TOO came close again in Grand Haven, with tight 3rd place finish (only missing 2nd by a point) in the Huntington Grand Haven Offshore Challenge.  Moving to the west side of the lake,  a hard-fought 5th place finish in tough conditions in the Uecker in Racine, WI was followed by a win in the Governor's Cup in Waukegan, IL helping BEST CHANCE TOO finish up the month of June in strong fashion.

The second half of the season got off to a delayed start for BEST CHANCE TOO and the rest of the tournament trail, following the cancellation of both days of Muskegon due to bad weather.   But the time off didn't make the BEST CHANCE TOO men rusty.  After two consistent days of fishing, with total weights only .1 lb apart, BEST CHANCE TOO ended Ludington with a strong 2nd place finish in a tough field of 51 Pro boats.

BEST CHANCE TOO takes 3rd place in the Michigan City Hoosier Coho Club Classic. Fishing has been much better this spring then last spring. Looking forward to a great season this year!

BEST CHANCE TOO wins second place at South Haven Steelheader's Pro/Am. With 89 boats fishing, the first day of the tournament was cancelled due to bad weather.  The second day was called early when the seas reached over eight feet high.  We were over 31 miles offshore at that point and only made the pierheads with six minutes to spare. Thank goodness for new motors!  It was a true day to test your equipment, and we had zero equipment failures thanks to all of our great sponsors.

Thanks again for all your great support!  Capt Dave Engel

At the Huntington's Grand Haven Offshore Challenge, BEST CHANCE TOO gets edged out of 1st by 2 points, then bumped to 3rd by a less than a point.  There was stiff competition in Grand Haven, with the most participation of any tournament this year.  Over 106 boats weighed in on Saturday and Sunday.

We are filming with local TV show Michigan Out Of Doors on June 3rd, and this show should air within the next two weeks.   Capt Dave Engel

At the Bob Uecker Classic in Racine, WI, the fishing was tough...really tough.  Only one boat got their limit both days, and only 6 limit catches were caught overall in the entire tournament.  Despite the tough fishing, BEST CHANCE TOO was able to eke out a strong 5th Place finish.   This marks the 5th Top Ten finish for the team this year (out of 5 events), and shows their consistent ability to catch fish even when others can't.
