Best Chance Too takes 2009 South Haven Pro/Am! |
| | | Best Chance Too takes first place in the South Haven Pro/Am with a whopping 297 lbs. in two days of fishing. After experiencing the largest catches since the 12 fish limit was implemented from the traditional fifteen fish limit, Best Chance Too rises to the top once again. Untypical spring fishing has made it very difficult to win, when literally all the boats are limiting out in all of the tournaments. "It's like playing Russian Roulette to stay away from the small fish", Capt. Dave Engel has quoted to local sports writers. But the good news is there is lots of bait, and the fish are much larger and much healthier than they have been in many years. Best Chance Too also wins first place in the Offshore Tackle Challenge. "Maybe it's the new uniforms?"

- Saugatuck, Michigan, June 11

UPDATE! Due to popular demand, Dave Engel and Bill Bale have added a second Best Chance Boot Camp in June, in addition to the June 8 one at Saugatuck. The second will be June 11, also at Saugatuck, with half the day spent on the water and half in a classroom, with Powerpoint presentations on summer techniques to include super deep fishing, copper and lead, maximizing diving disks and the kind of focus and decision making that sets the great fishermen apart from the rest. The guys have gotten together a really nice tackle bag and a lunch of fresh fish is included at a local restaurant.
The first participants at Michigan City had a good time and learned quite a bit from being on the boat and asking questions.
Cost is $300. A fourth class, also at Saugatuck, is scheduled for September for you guys who want to see first hand how to win at combat fishing! For more info and to reserve a spot for June 11 or Sept. 14 (class size is limited to 12) call Bill Bale at 616-292-6098. |
